Brother MFC9450CDN Error TW006 Cannot connect

I could not run a remote scan on the 9450CDN from the Brother Control Center and would get the error TW006.

To fix it:

I added the UDP firewall exception in Windows Firewall with Advanced Security (allowing UDP 54925).

I added the hostname to IP mapping for the printer in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file. This had to match the hostname used when describing the printer port.

Then everything started working again.
